Strong Supporters for the NRK telethon
Every year, on a Sunday in October, 100 000 door-to-door fundraisers visit 2.5 million households to raise money for the NRK Telethon. Computas has been an important partner for many years, both as a regular donor and by developing digital solutions that free up time for what really matters – value-creating work for a good cause.
The NRK Telethon is the world’s largest fundraising campaign, measured by the number of volunteers and the amount of money collected per capita. Since 1974, the campaign, in collaboration with selected organizations, has raised money for charitable causes.
Over the years, Computas has developed several solutions that have made fundraising more efficient. One example is an automated dashboard that gave the administration a simple way to track the recruitment of door-to-door collectors from day to day, while local groups had quick access to relevant statistics.
Nina Larsen, head of the NRK Telethon, is very pleased with the collaboration: “It’s incredibly good that the business community and Computas are involved in the NRK Telethon. There are different purposes, so it varies what we are working towards each year. I think many people find that very exciting”, says Larsen, while also praising Computas for several of the solutions the IT company has created for the NRK Telethon.
New Website that Inspires Commitment
This year, Computas has developed two digital tools to help the NRK Telethon reach even more people. One of the solutions is the website Delfor.tvaksjonen, which makes it easy for people to share images, videos, and text about the NRK Telethon on social media. The website encourages and facilitates sharing messages from this year’s campaign, so that even more people can spread information about the NRK Telethon’s important cause.
“It’s so convenient. Instead of us in the NRK Telethon having to send large files to influencers, ambassadors, or suppliers who are going to help us – they just go to that site. It has helped us get very good visibility, while at the same time being simple and efficient for us”, says Larsen.

AI-assistant for the NRK Telethon’s Staff
The second solution, named Wiggo, is an AI-based communication assistant that helps the NRK Telethon staff answer questions and inquiries from people across Norway. Wiggo provides concrete suggestions for responding to messages received via email and social media, significantly improving communication efficiency.
Ruth Marie Dahl Jensen, Computas’ contact person for the NRK Telethon, is proud of the collaboration and adds: “This is an excellent example of how technology can simplify the daily work of those involved in large, national projects”.
